1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Accurate Tax & Financials ("Accurate Tax & Financials," "Firm," "we," "us," or "our").
We are a tax preparation and financial services firm headquartered in Union, New Jersey, serving eligible individuals and businesses throughout the United States.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of our website, online appointment scheduling, public resources, and related website features.
By accessing or using our website, you acknowledge these Terms and agree to them to the extent a binding agreement is formed under applicable law. Where affirmative acceptance is required, we may request your acknowledgment or electronic acceptance.
If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of the website.
Professional Engagement Agreements
These Terms do not, by themselves, establish a tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, advisory, insurance, or other professional engagement.
Professional services are governed by a separate engagement agreement that identifies the services purchased, the scope of work, applicable fees, and the responsibilities of the parties.
If a provision of an executed engagement agreement conflicts with these general website Terms concerning those professional services, the engagement agreement controls, except as otherwise required by law.
Acceptance of these Terms does not constitute acceptance of, or payment for, any unrelated service or product.
2. Services Offered
Accurate Tax & Financials may offer the following services, subject to availability, applicable licensing requirements, and separate engagement agreements:
- Federal and state individual income tax preparation.
- Business tax return preparation, including applicable sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and S corporation filings.
- Tax planning and related advisory services.
- Bookkeeping, accounting support, and financial record organization.
- Payroll administration and related tax reporting support.
- Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and business financial advisory services.
- Tax notice review, prior-year filings, amended returns, and tax resolution assistance.
- Insurance and risk management services through appropriately authorized professionals or providers, where applicable.
- Other related services expressly accepted by the Firm.
The availability of a listed service does not represent that every employee or preparer holds every professional credential or that every service is available in every jurisdiction.
Additional services are not automatically included in a tax preparation engagement.
We reserve the right to accept, decline, limit, or discontinue prospective engagements based on capacity, conflicts of interest, legal requirements, professional qualifications, incomplete information, or other lawful and legitimate business considerations.
We do not discriminate in providing services on any basis prohibited by applicable law.
3. Client Eligibility and Identity Verification
Clients entering into professional agreements must have the legal capacity and authority to do so.
If you act on behalf of a business, trust, estate, or another person, you represent that you are authorized to request the applicable services and execute related agreements.
We may require reasonable identity verification and documentation before beginning or continuing services.
Verification may include government-issued identification, taxpayer identification information, entity records, authorization documents, or other information appropriate to the requested service.
We may suspend or decline a requested transaction if we cannot reasonably verify identity, authority, or the legitimacy of a transaction.
We may request additional verification where necessary to prevent identity theft, tax fraud, unauthorized filings, or other unlawful activity.
The website is intended primarily for adults. Information regarding minor dependents may be collected in connection with authorized tax preparation or other lawful services.
4. Professional Engagement and Scope of Services
A professional relationship is established only when the Firm accepts an engagement in accordance with its engagement procedures.
Submitting documents, booking a consultation, making an inquiry, or creating a portal account does not alone obligate the Firm to prepare or file a return or provide another professional service.
Each engagement agreement will identify the services to be performed and may specify applicable tax years, jurisdictions, deliverables, fees, deadlines, and exclusions.
Unless expressly included in the applicable engagement agreement, services do not automatically include:
- Tax audit defense or representation.
- Responding to IRS or state tax notices.
- Amending previously filed returns.
- Filing extensions.
- Tax planning for subsequent years.
- Bookkeeping or payroll services.
- Financial statement audits, reviews, or attest services.
- Legal advice or legal representation.
- Investment management or securities advice.
- Insurance product recommendations or placement.
Any expansion of scope may require a separate agreement, documented approval, and additional fees.
5. Client Responsibilities and Information Accuracy
Clients are responsible for providing complete, truthful, accurate, and timely information necessary for the services requested.
For tax preparation, this includes disclosure of all relevant income, deductions, credits, dependents, filing status, business activities, assets, liabilities, and other information required under federal, state, or local tax law.
Clients agree to:
- Provide requested tax forms, records, receipts, identification, and supporting documentation.
- Disclose all relevant sources of taxable and reportable income, including domestic and foreign sources where applicable.
- Provide truthful information regarding marital status, dependents, residency, business ownership, and eligibility for tax benefits.
- Inform the Firm of relevant IRS or state tax correspondence.
- Respond reasonably and promptly to requests for clarification or additional documentation.
- Review prepared returns and other deliverables before approving or signing them.
- Inform the Firm promptly upon discovering a material error or omission.
Clients must not knowingly submit falsified documents, conceal required information, claim benefits for which they are not eligible, or request preparation of a return that the Firm reasonably believes would violate applicable law.
If necessary information cannot be obtained or material inconsistencies remain unresolved, the Firm may suspend work, decline to prepare or file a return, or terminate the engagement as permitted by law and the applicable agreement.
Nothing in this section relieves Accurate Tax & Financials or its preparers of their own legal or professional responsibilities.
6. Tax Preparer Compliance and Due Diligence
Accurate Tax & Financials conducts applicable tax preparation activities in accordance with relevant federal and state tax laws, regulations, and professional obligations.
These include, where applicable:
- Internal Revenue Code provisions governing paid tax return preparers.
- IRS preparer identification requirements.
- Due diligence requirements under Internal Revenue Code Section 6695(g) and Treasury Regulation Section 1.6695-2.
- Applicable electronic filing requirements and authorized e-file provider rules.
- Treasury Department Circular 230 to the extent applicable to the professional and the services performed.
- Applicable state-specific preparer registration, licensing, conduct, and filing requirements.
To fulfill these obligations, the Firm may request additional records or ask follow-up questions about information that appears incomplete, inconsistent, or potentially incorrect.
The Firm may request documentation supporting eligibility for tax credits, deductions, dependents, filing status, or other tax benefits.
Clients acknowledge that providing a document or making a verbal statement does not necessarily establish eligibility for a particular tax treatment.
The Firm will exercise its own professional judgment and comply with applicable preparer due diligence rules when preparing tax returns.
We will not knowingly prepare or submit a return containing materially false information.
7. Tax Return Review, Approval, and Electronic Filing
Before a tax return is filed, clients are responsible for reviewing the completed return and informing the Firm of any inaccurate or missing information.
Accurate Tax & Financials will obtain all required signatures and filing authorizations before transmitting returns for which it is acting as an electronic return originator.
Applicable authorizations may include IRS Form 8879, the relevant business-return authorization, state-specific authorization forms, or other approved electronic signature procedures.
For jointly filed returns, signatures and authorizations must be obtained from each taxpayer as required by law.
Clients authorize transmission of a return only through the applicable completed filing authorization process. Agreement to these website Terms is not electronic filing authorization.
We may decline to transmit a return when required authorization is missing or material information remains unresolved.
Filing Acceptance
Electronic transmission does not necessarily mean that the IRS or applicable state agency has accepted or processed a return.
A return may be rejected because of identity verification problems, duplicate filings, incorrect identification information, agency processing rules, or other circumstances.
When we receive notice of a filing rejection for a return we transmitted, we will notify the affected client and explain the appropriate next steps in accordance with the engagement agreement and applicable filing requirements.
Additional preparation or correction work may be subject to agreed fees, except where the correction is attributable to an error for which the Firm is responsible under applicable law or its written commitments.
We cannot guarantee acceptance or processing by a government agency.
8. Tax Filing Deadlines, Extensions, and Timely Delivery
Clients are responsible for identifying and communicating relevant tax obligations and submitting requested information within the deadlines established in the applicable engagement agreement.
Accurate Tax & Financials will communicate reasonable document submission requirements and relevant engagement deadlines.
Providing documents shortly before a filing deadline does not guarantee that sufficient time remains to complete, review, authorize, and file a return.
The Firm does not assume responsibility for a filing obligation unless that obligation is within the accepted engagement.
An extension of time to file is not automatically included in every tax preparation engagement.
Extensions will be prepared or submitted only where included in the engagement or otherwise separately agreed, and where required information and authorization are received in time.
An extension of time to file generally does not extend the deadline for paying taxes owed.
Clients remain responsible for timely payment of their tax liabilities, estimated tax payments, and other amounts due to federal, state, or local taxing authorities.
The Firm will not be responsible for penalties caused solely by the client's failure to provide required information, authorization, or payment in a timely manner, except to the extent the law or the Firm's own conduct provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits responsibility imposed on the Firm by applicable law.
9. Tax Refunds, Liabilities, and Government Decisions
Tax refunds, credits, liabilities, payment processing, and agency determinations are controlled by applicable tax law and the relevant taxing authorities.
Accurate Tax & Financials does not guarantee:
- That a client will receive a refund.
- Any particular refund amount.
- A specific refund issuance date.
- Approval of a tax credit or deduction.
- That a return will not be selected for examination.
- Approval of an installment agreement, penalty relief request, or other tax resolution proposal.
Refund amounts may change because of government adjustments, offsets, outstanding obligations, or other lawful agency actions.
Clients are responsible for verifying the accuracy of bank account and routing information on their return before authorizing filing.
Tax preparation fees and taxes owed to government agencies are separate obligations.
Refund delays or changes imposed by tax authorities do not automatically establish a right to reimbursement of preparation fees.
These provisions do not excuse negligence, misconduct, breach of contract, or any violation of applicable law by the Firm.
10. Fees, Payment Terms, and Pricing
Website prices may represent starting prices or estimates rather than guaranteed fixed fees.
Before beginning paid professional work, the Firm will disclose the applicable price or pricing method through a quotation, engagement agreement, or other documented agreement.
Fees may depend on the complexity of the work, required schedules, number of states, tax years involved, business records, additional research, and other agreed services.
If the scope materially changes, the Firm will disclose additional fees and obtain any agreement required before performing the additional billable work.
Payment deadlines and accepted payment methods will be specified in the applicable engagement agreement or invoice.
Clients may be responsible for authorized services actually performed, subject to any agreed cancellation or refund policy and applicable law.
Tax preparation fees will not be represented as contingent on obtaining a particular refund amount. The Firm will comply with applicable restrictions on contingent fees and prohibited refund-related practices.
If a payment is disputed or overdue, the Firm may pursue lawful collection remedies and may suspend future work when permitted by law and the relevant engagement agreement.
Nothing in this section permits withholding records, returns, or other materials in violation of applicable legal or professional obligations.
11. Cancellations, Refunds, and Service Termination
Clients may request cancellation of services by contacting Accurate Tax & Financials.
Any fees payable following cancellation will depend on the accepted engagement agreement, work actually performed, authorized expenses, and applicable consumer protection laws.
A refund of professional service fees is not the same as a tax refund issued by the IRS or a state taxing authority.
Where services have not commenced, any collected fees will be addressed under the applicable cancellation and refund terms and governing law.
Where services have partially or substantially been performed, the Firm will assess refund requests in accordance with the engagement agreement and applicable law.
Either party may terminate a professional engagement as provided in the agreement and subject to applicable legal and professional obligations.
Upon termination, the Firm will address outstanding fees, the status of unfinished work, records requests, and any legally required notices or transition duties.
Termination does not eliminate rights or obligations that accrued before termination or that must continue under applicable law.
12. Tax Notices, Amended Returns, and Representation
Preparation of a tax return does not automatically include representation before the IRS or any state tax agency.
Audit assistance, tax notice responses, amended returns, collection matters, installment agreements, and tax controversy services may require separate engagements.
Where formal representation is required, the Firm will act only through professionals who possess the credentials and authorization required for the matter and jurisdiction involved.
Applicable authorizations may include IRS Form 2848, Form 8821, or corresponding state authorization documents, depending on the service requested.
A tax information authorization does not by itself grant unlimited representation authority.
If a matter exceeds the qualifications, authorization, or scope of the Firm's personnel, the Firm may recommend an appropriately licensed attorney, certified public accountant, enrolled agent, or other authorized professional.
Government notices and correspondence may contain short response deadlines. Clients should contact the Firm promptly after receiving a notice and should not assume that transmitting the notice creates an engagement or suspends a government deadline.
We cannot guarantee the outcome of an audit, appeal, tax resolution, or agency request.
13. Bookkeeping, Payroll, and Business Financial Services
Bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other recurring business services require a separate service agreement.
That agreement will describe responsibilities, reporting periods, deliverables, deadlines, fees, and applicable cancellation procedures.
Unless expressly accepted in writing, the Firm is not responsible for:
- Making independent business management decisions.
- Maintaining the client's internal financial controls.
- Authorizing payments or transfers.
- Guaranteeing third-party payroll processor performance.
- Detecting every instance of fraud, embezzlement, or misrepresentation.
- Performing an audit or other assurance engagement.
- Submitting business tax filings outside the agreed scope.
Clients remain responsible for approving payroll information, providing complete and accurate records, and making funds available for authorized tax deposits and payments unless a specific responsibility is otherwise assigned under the agreement.
Any responsibility the Firm expressly accepts remains subject to the applicable agreement, professional standards, and law.
14. Fractional CFO and Financial Advisory Services
Fractional CFO, business planning, forecasting, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and strategic financial advisory services require a separately accepted scope of work.
Reports, projections, models, estimates, and recommendations may rely on client-supplied information, assumptions, and changing economic conditions.
Financial projections involve uncertainty. Actual results may differ materially from estimates or forecasts.
Unless separately agreed and legally authorized, these services do not constitute legal representation, investment management, securities brokerage, an audit, or an assurance engagement.
Clients retain authority and responsibility for business decisions, investments, hiring, borrowing, and implementation of recommendations.
The Firm remains responsible for carrying out its agreed services with the care required by applicable law and professional obligations.
15. Insurance and Risk Management Services
Insurance-related services may be provided directly by appropriately licensed professionals or through authorized third-party providers, depending on the service and jurisdiction.
Accurate Tax & Financials will not represent that it or its personnel are licensed to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance in a jurisdiction unless the required authorization exists.
Where an independent insurance provider is involved, that provider's identity, role, and applicable product terms will be disclosed as required by law.
Insurance applications, coverage, premiums, underwriting, exclusions, and claims are subject to the relevant insurer's contracts, applicable regulations, and required disclosures.
The submission of an inquiry does not guarantee coverage, pricing, issuance of a policy, or payment of a claim.
Any proposed disclosure or use of tax return information in connection with an insurance-related service will comply with Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 and applicable consent requirements.
16. Refund Advances and Third-Party Financial Products
Where available, refund advance loans, refund transfers, or other bank-related products are provided by participating third-party financial institutions or authorized providers under separate product agreements.
Product availability, eligibility, rates, loan amounts, fees, repayment requirements, approval decisions, and relevant disclosures are determined by the provider and applicable law.
Approval is not guaranteed.
A refund advance is a loan and is not an accelerated payment of a tax refund by the IRS.
Clients must review and accept the lender's or provider's applicable disclosures and agreements before enrolling in a product.
Tax preparation services do not require a client to purchase an unrelated financial product unless the nature of the specifically requested transaction makes the relevant service necessary and the arrangement is permitted by law.
Any required consent to disclose or use tax return information for such products will be obtained separately in compliance with applicable federal tax regulations.
17. Taxpayer Confidentiality and Section 7216
Accurate Tax & Financials recognizes the sensitive and confidential nature of taxpayer information.
The Firm will handle tax return information in accordance with applicable federal and state confidentiality laws, including Internal Revenue Code Section 7216, Section 6713, and Treasury Regulations Sections 301.7216-1 through 301.7216-3.
Tax return information will not be knowingly or recklessly disclosed or used for an unauthorized purpose.
Information may be used or disclosed as permitted by applicable law, including where necessary for authorized tax return preparation and related permitted activities.
Where applicable law requires taxpayer consent for a particular use or disclosure, the Firm will seek a separate consent satisfying the relevant legal requirements.
Agreement to these Terms does not replace a legally required Section 7216 consent.
The Firm will not treat a client's general agreement to these Terms as blanket authorization to disclose tax return information for marketing, insurance solicitation, unrelated financial products, or other purposes requiring separate consent.
Where consent is required to be voluntary, declining that consent will not be treated as grounds for denying tax preparation services, except as specifically permitted by applicable law.
Clients may contact the Firm with questions about the handling of their taxpayer information.
18. Data Privacy, Information Security, and Records
Accurate Tax & Financials takes reasonable measures designed to protect personal, tax, and financial information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and misuse.
The Firm's information security practices are subject to applicable federal and state requirements, including, where applicable, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 314.
The Firm's administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are designed to address the nature and sensitivity of the information processed.
Our Privacy Notice provides additional information about the categories of information collected, permitted uses and disclosures, service providers, retention practices, and available privacy choices.

Secure Document Handling
Clients should submit Social Security numbers, identification records, tax documents, banking information, and other sensitive materials only through secure methods approved by the Firm.
We discourage transmission of unprotected sensitive information through ordinary email, text messages, or public communication channels.
Record Retention
The Firm may retain records as necessary to perform agreed services, comply with applicable tax and recordkeeping laws, satisfy professional obligations, address lawful requests, and protect legitimate legal interests.
Records will be retained and disposed of in accordance with applicable retention and data-security requirements.
Clients may request access to or copies of records as provided by applicable law, professional obligations, and their engagement agreements.
Security Incidents
In the event of a qualifying data-security incident, the Firm will investigate and provide notifications to affected individuals and appropriate authorities as required by applicable federal and state law.
No online information system can be guaranteed to be completely free of security risk.
Nothing in these Terms waives the Firm's mandatory data-security or breach-notification obligations.
19. Electronic Communications, Signatures, and Online Access
The Firm may use electronic communications and electronic signatures in connection with its website and professional services, where permitted by law.
Electronic agreements and signatures may be legally binding when executed through processes that satisfy applicable requirements, including the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act and relevant state electronic transactions laws.
Where a law requires a specific form of consent for electronic records or disclosures, that consent will be obtained separately.
Clients are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and protecting the confidentiality of their portal login credentials.
Clients should notify us promptly if they reasonably suspect unauthorized access to their account.
Email and Text Communications
Providing a telephone number or email address may permit communications reasonably related to inquiries, appointments, and existing engagements, subject to applicable law and consent requirements.
Marketing calls, automated messages, and promotional text communications requiring separate consent will be handled through the appropriate opt-in process.
Consent to promotional communications is not required as a general condition of purchasing tax preparation services.
Clients may request changes to their communication preferences or withdraw marketing consent using the available opt-out methods.
The Firm will not use these website Terms as a substitute for any specific consent required under federal or state communications law.
20. Third-Party Services, Software, and Links
Our website and professional workflows may use third-party tools for scheduling, secure document exchange, payment processing, tax software, electronic filing, payroll administration, and other authorized functions.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy notices, or service requirements.
The Firm remains responsible for its own legal and contractual obligations in selecting and using service providers, including applicable confidentiality and safeguarding requirements.
We do not control independent third-party websites and cannot guarantee their continuous availability or the accuracy of their independently published content.
Links to government websites, banks, software providers, insurers, and other external organizations are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute endorsement.

22. Accuracy Commitments, Errors, and Corrections
Accurate Tax & Financials is committed to preparing returns and delivering professional services with reasonable care and in accordance with applicable legal and professional standards.
The Firm may use internal preparation and review procedures intended to identify errors before filing.
If a client believes an error has occurred, the client should notify the Firm promptly and provide the relevant documents and correspondence.
The Firm will review the matter and explain any corrective steps appropriate under the engagement agreement, the nature of the error, and applicable law.
Responsibility for amendment costs, penalties, interest, additional professional services, or other consequences will be determined under the applicable agreement, any specific accuracy guarantee, and governing law.
No provision in these Terms eliminates responsibilities arising from the Firm's own negligence, professional misconduct, violation of law, or legally enforceable commitments.
Any accuracy guarantee advertised or separately communicated by the Firm remains subject to its properly disclosed terms and applicable law. These website Terms do not cancel or diminish an enforceable guarantee. See our accuracy guarantee.
23. Prohibited Website Activities
Users may not use our website, portal access, or related electronic systems to:
- Commit or facilitate fraud, identity theft, or other unlawful acts.

We may restrict website or account access in response to violations, suspected fraud, legitimate security threats, or legal requirements.
Any restriction affecting an existing professional engagement will also be handled in accordance with the applicable agreement and professional obligations.
24. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Firm or its licensors own the website's original text, branding, graphics, logos, designs, and other protected materials.
Users receive limited permission to view, download, or print publicly available website materials for lawful personal reference.
No ownership of website intellectual property is transferred through use of the website.

25. Website Warranties and Limitations of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the public website and its general informational features are provided on an "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, continuous availability, or error-free operation of every website feature.
To the extent permitted by law, the Firm is not responsible for losses resulting solely from a user's unauthorized misuse of the website or reliance on general website content as individualized professional advice.
These website disclaimers do not replace, reduce, or override the standard of care applicable to separately contracted professional services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, legally nonwaivable professional duties, violations of applicable privacy or consumer protection laws, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any additional limitations relating to a particular paid service must be expressly set forth in the applicable engagement agreement and are enforceable only to the extent permitted by law.
26. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
We encourage clients and website users to contact Accurate Tax & Financials promptly with questions, complaints, billing concerns, or service disputes.
We will make reasonable efforts to review and resolve concerns through direct communication.
These website Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law controls or another jurisdiction's mandatory laws or consumer protections apply.
Nothing in these Terms deprives a person of rights, remedies, or protections that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable federal or state law.
Unless another enforceable agreement lawfully provides otherwise, disputes may be brought before courts with appropriate subject-matter and personal jurisdiction.
These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive a right to a jury trial.
27. Compliance with Federal and State Laws
Accurate Tax & Financials intends to provide services in compliance with applicable federal, New Jersey, and other state laws and regulations.
These may include applicable provisions of:
- The Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.
- IRS electronic filing rules and paid preparer requirements.
- The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FTC Safeguards Rule.
- Federal and state identity theft, privacy, and data-breach notification laws.
- Federal and state electronic signature and consumer communication laws.
- New Jersey consumer protection and contract laws.
- State tax preparer registration and licensing requirements.
- Applicable insurance producer and other professional licensing laws.
Professional services are available only where the Firm and relevant professionals are legally authorized to provide them.
Where these Terms conflict with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable law controls.
Nothing in these Terms constitutes a waiver of rights under any applicable consumer protection statute.
28. Modifications to These Terms
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in website operations, services, technology, legal requirements, or business practices.
The current version and its effective date will be posted on our website.
Changes will apply prospectively in accordance with applicable law.
Material changes requiring notice or affirmative agreement will be handled accordingly.
Revisions to website Terms will not automatically amend an existing professional engagement agreement or create a new obligation to purchase unrelated services.
29. Severability and General Provisions
If a provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not automatically waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms govern the general website matters addressed in this document.
Professional engagement agreements, applicable written product disclosures, separate legally required consents, and other expressly accepted agreements govern their respective subjects.
In the event of conflict, mandatory federal or state law controls.
